PEOPLE OF COLOR & PSORIATIC DISEASE
A History of Inequity in Psoriatic Disease
Data on the clinical presentation of plaque psoriasis (PsO) in people of color is scarce and there have been few studies that specifically study its severity in different races and ethnicities.1,2 Similarly, there is limited research concerning ethnic differences for psoriatic arthritis (PsA), which may be influenced by a number of genetic, lifestyle and cultural factors.3,4

More than
50%
of people with PsA experience
at least a 2-year delay from
symptoms to diagnosis.5

People of color with PsO and PsA have reported a
LOWER
quality of life as a result of the disease,
compared with white patients.2,4

72%
of non-white patients
say PsO interferes with their
capacity to enjoy life.7
